Maryland CE Information:
- All Maryland licensed Cosmetologists, Estheticians, and Nail Technicians are required to complete a total of 6 Continuing Education Credits for license renewal starting January 1st, 2026.
- Step #1 – Check your license expiration date. If the date is after January 1st, 2026, then you will need 6 CE credits in order to renew.
- A total of 6 CE Credits must be completed within the renewal period. For example: Your license is valid August 14th, 2025 – August 14th, 2027. You must complete all 6 credits within this period. Once your license renews, the CE credits start over.
- 6 CE Credits = 6 Hours
- Out of the 6 required CE credits, a minimum of 2 credits/hours must fall within the “required categories”
- Required Categories:
- Health
- Safety
- Welfare
- Maryland Laws & Regulations
- The remaining 1-4 CE credits can fall in any elective category, including:
- Business
- Product Knowledge
- Professional skills/practice
- Required Categories:
- Remember: ALL Courses must be approved by the Maryland Board of Cosmetology and provided by a Maryland-approved CE Provider.
- Licensed Professionals must be able to carry out the objectives of the course to receive CE credits. Example: A licensed Esthetician will not be awarded CE credits for taking a Hair Cutting CE Course because it is outside their scope of practice and will not be able to fulfill the objectives of the course.
- Upon completion of each CE Course, you will be provided a Certification of Completion. Please keep these as proof for when you renew your license.

The Maryland Board of Cosmetology COMAR 9.22.04.03 states**
“A licensee shall complete, as a condition for a license renewal, a minimum 6 credit hours of approved continuing education.” IMPORTANT NOTE: The Maryland Legislature requires licensees to complete six hours of approved continuing education for license renewal. This must include two hours in Health, Safety, Welfare, or Maryland Board Laws and Regulations.

Yes, our current continued education courses are approved by the Maryland Board of Cosmetology and provide CE credits upon completion. Each course offered indicates the number of CE awarded to attendees.
All attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion via email within 72 hours of course completion.
All attendees must join the live Google Meet at the designated time and remain in the course until its completion. Attendees who join late and/or leave early may not receive a Certificate of Completion or the indicated CE hours.
No, all virtual courses are taught live by experienced educators with extensive industry knowledge. Recordings are not permitted.
The CE Course fee for virtual classes is non-refundable. The CE Course fee for in-person classes is refundable if cancellation is received in writing 72 hours before the class date. No-shows and cancellations less than 72 hours before in-person classes are non-refundable.
